Peregrine Trail to AFA

6 miles 51:45 8:37 average per mile
9:00 am) sunny 70's
Elevation gain 1029 loss 1028
Ran some trail today it was a nice change. Ran toward the Academy and
turned around. Wasn't sure how to connect to the Falcon Trail. Ran
into a closed gate with barb wire all around it. Security was out driving
around. I thought I might get in trouble as I went thru several no
trespassing signs. The guy just waved at me.

Brad - I can let you know how to connect over if you are interested. Where did you drop in from Peregrine?

Steve, I started on the trail on Blodgett Dr. by the water tower. I went through the gate with the no trespassing sign and found my way down to the water/power plant. There was an electronic gate with barbed wire that I turned around at.

Brad - There is a horse gate off the road on the right after you have descended about a mile, before you get to the water treatment plant. You go through that and immediately downhill toward the usually dry upper reservoir. The trail bends right on the hillside above the reservoirs and descends to a large opening above the horse stables. A hard left up and over the hill there drops you down to a trail on your right where another small horse gate puts you right on Falcon Trail right around 2 miles. So if you do the whole loop it is right around 17 miles. It is a Great run! You can catch the trail by Marshall Sprague park also, just FYI.

Thanks so much Steve! I remember seeing that horse gate. I will have to get out there again soon.
