Really looking forward to getting serious again about training. I have a trip this week so that's kind of putting the brakes on for now. I look forward to getting back from the trip so I can get after it.
I have been watching a vlog that's really fun to watch. Seth James DeMoor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjrvQHx6ir4 check it out!
Saturday and Sunday we spectated at the Pikes Peak Ascent and Pikes Peak Marathon. That was fun to watch. The talk was the course record set by Matt Carpenter could go down. I really didn't think it would. First off that time is just plain crazy that Matt ran in 1993. Second the weather was pretty hot on Sunday and that's not ideal for breaking long standing course records. I still think Killian ran a great race. He raced really hard 2 weeks earlier and broke the course record at Sierre-Zinal. I believe that left his legs fatigued for Pikes Peak.
In a couple weeks I get to do some more spectating in Steamboat Springs, CO. My friend from Wisconsin is running the 50 mile event. Bethany and I will cheer her on and crew for her. This will be her first 50 miler. Very excited for her.

Hello I'm Back!
After a very long break I'm finally motivated to train and run again. Life has been busy with the purchase of a new home and a 8 month old puppy (Harvey). After running consistently for 14 years I guess I needed a physical and mental break. I have not raced since March of 2018 (New Orleans Marathon).
So what do I want to do? Run trails and get vertical. I have my eyes on some 2020 races. Races like Mt Evans Ascent, Imogene Pass, Pikes Peak Ascent. Probably some others too.
So I will start back very slowly, so no hurry. I have some thoughts that this time around I will train different than the past. I will use the treadmill more, do strength training and do floor exercises such as foam rolling, planks, push-ups and so on.
Tonight 3 dog jog miles on Rampart Range Road.
